Champions Online to be distributed by Take Two

The MMO Champions Online will be distributed next spring by Take Two. That’s the announcement made by the GTA publisher. Champions Online is being developed by Cryptic Studios, a software house that gained notoriety thanks to the success achieved with City of Heroes / City of Villains.
Champions Online is a MMORPG where players can create their own superhero and customize their story, outfits, powers, ability and enemies. The inspiration for the game comes from the tabletop Hero Games, copyrighted by the same Cryptic Studios.
This MMO is actually is the result of an evolution of Marvel Universe Online, a project that had been promoted by Microsoft but abandoned last February. Champions Online is being developed, other than for the PC platform, also for XBox 360. Its main rival is a MMORPG from Sony Online Entertaiment that is based on the DC Comics universe. The latter is expected in PC and Playstation 3 platforms, but at this point, no further details about the Sony game are available.
