Far Cry 3 already in developing stages

While gamers wait for the release of Far Cry 2, the game’s developer, Ubisoft Montreal, reveals that the following chapter of the game is already under development. Far Cry 3 would take advantage of the same graphic engine used on the second episode. It would also share the same scenario: Africa.“For us Africa still has a huge amount of promise,”, said Patrick Redding in an interview to videogaming247. “There are still things we want to do with the African setting, and I think it’s safe to say we’ll continue to explore it. That said, we might find something new and compelling about the Antarctic setting that wants us to make the next game there, but honestly, we’re still at the preliminary stages.”
The first Far Cry chapter was released on 2004 for PC only. It was developed by Crytek and used the CryEngine graphic engine. They later released the same game for the XBox, XBox 360 and Wii platforms, with lesser graphic contents. The Canadian team is currently working on the sequel, Far Cry 2, which will hit the markets next Autumn.
