Ubisoft: EndWar’s PC version penalized by piracy.
Michael de Plater, Ubisoft Shangai’s creative director, has declared that a PC version of Tom Clancy’s EndWar would have been possible to be launched together with the console versions if only the piracy on PC games weren’t so fierce. “To be honest, if the PC wasn’t so prone to piracy, we could launch a PC version on the market at the same date as the console versions. But at the moment, if you release a PC version, you’re allowing people to have a free version that they can just download instead of buying the original version. Piracy is killing the PC market”.
Always according to de Plater, the level of piracy on the PC versions is also damaging the other versions, and that’s the reason why it’s not possible to release the PC versions at the same time as the console ones.
