EA aims at the online game world
EA Games’ President Frank Gibernau has supported without many problems the company’s necessity to launch itself into the Online Gaming world. “It’s absolutely mandatory for the company to go online as soon as possible, and the more valid projects we can launch in that area, the better it will be”.
Gibernau quotes the Asian market as an example for the success of online titles, and it’s a similar result that the company’s aiming for, with the current games that are only “now starting to scratch the surface regarding the entertainment possibilities in a massive multiplayer environmnent”.
Obviously the key to all this is Star Wars: The Old Republic, the new MMORPG based on Lucas’ universe that is currently under development by BioWare. This MMORPG will clearly mark the start of the new Online path for Electronic Arts.
