Epic has recently launched a new update for Gears of War 2. It’s a patch that corrects the long waiting problems that are present during the matchmaking match formation, a problem that was quickly posed to the developers in the few days after the game was launched on the market. The details on the patch are explained in a thread on the official game forum by Senior Producer Rod Fergusson. Rod explains that the number of available servers has been reduced in order to increase the speed on the searchf or available users in order to create the match. Even though the improvement can be noticed right now, the situation should ge better in a few days.
Also, there was a correction on problem in the detection of data and statistics on the Gearsofwar.com website, and the issue that would sometimes cause the campaign to be launched without being connected to XBox live.

According to Eurogamer.net, “close sources to Square Enix” would have affirmed that Chrono Trigger DS is to be expected to be launched in Europe in February.
The remake of the famous Squaresoft RPG, originally launched for SuperNES on 1995, has already been launched in the Japanese and American markets, receiving good responses from critics and public, a clear demonstration on how the game is still loved by fans.
Chrono Trigger DS has remained the same game as ten years ago, but besides the new loading scenes signed by Akira Toriyama’s Bird Studio (introduced for the first time on the Playstation reedition), there is also a new dungeon, a new finale, the double screen visualization, touch screen control and the possibility of a multiplayer mode through the Wi-Fi connection.
We’ll be waiting on eventual confirmation on the launch month for the European market.

It’s the famous classic Taito game with four new modes. The second title is Forgotten Worlds, which the older gamers will certainly remember as being a great shooter developed by Capcom, presented on the Virtual Console in its Megadrive version, also downloadable for 800 Wii Points.
Last but not least, Metal Slug 2, on its Neo Geo version, and the title doesn’t need any further introductions. This title can be downloaded for 900 Wii Points.

Square Enix has gone back to talking about the highly awaited Final Fantasy XIII, confirming that the PS3 version is currently being developed. But the same cannot be said for the XBox 360 version. “We’ll finish the current version before we we start on the 360, we have reached the point where we can put the PS3 version on a blu-ray and play on our testing unit”. The game is currently an exclusive PS3 version for the Japan market, while the western markets will have it in both consoles, even if there’s a lack of an official launch date for Europe.Square Unix reassure players taht the quality of both versions will be the same and there will be no lack of quality in any of the platforms. We’ll be waiting on an official launching date.

It’s only a rumor for now, since nothing has been officially declared. An interesting rumor, nonetheless, passively spread by Gamestop, that features a boxed version of The Lost and Damned on their database for the price of $19.99. The boxed versions hould have, other than the announced expansion for Grand Theft Auto IV, a poster and a token card for XBox Live Marketplace that would feature a code to be used to buy the game on Live. There’s no CD included in the pack, only the token to buy the download, probably in order to protect those who don’t trust digital delivery systems, or that want to have the actual product box as a collector’s item. We’ll be waiting for more information on the matter.

The arrival of a Resident Evil 5 demo was announced yesterday by IGN, which took the information from Famitsu. Today, however, Capcom’s official American blog has confirmed the demo, but also stated that the Western markets will have to wait a little before they can get their hands on a demo version for the new chapter of the famous survival-horror.
There are no official dates on the article, only a note that says that the North American markets will have the demo “bit later than the Japanese demo”, where it will be available from next week on (precisely on December 5th).
Some rumors have claimed that a Resident Evil 5 demo could be inserted inside Bionic Commando, and that the latter - a 3d remake of Capcom’s classic action game - should arrive on January for the Western markets. It’s not sure whether that will be the first opportunity to have the demo version, but we’ll be tuned on more information.

Since the real version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix isn’t yet available on the European section of PlayStation Network, the users will have at least a consolation prize while they wait, with the game’s soundtrack being now available for free on the Digital Delivery system from Sony (for now, at least, since it’s not yet present on the XBox Live).
“Street Fighter Undergroudn Remix” is an album that features many tracks that were made or remixed by some rather known figures on the hip-hop world, or so it seems, such as Hieroglyphics Crew, Redman, Zion I and DJ Qbert. Anyone that wants to preview some of the tracks can do so at the MySpace page dedicated to the album.
The pack is available for now on the American PSN section, but it should be arriving soon at the European one.

Capcom has showed the first image of what seems to be the definite version of Resident Evil 5’s limited edition, which can be seen above. The collector’s edition should be launched on March 5th, 2009 in Japan, simultaneously as the standard version release.
It should have a USB pendrive in the shape of an injector, what seems to be a belt pouch and an artbook, everything in the Biohazard theme, of course.

Koch Media has announced that the beta testing period for 7Million, the new free to play MMO, are now open. The first players that were selected for it have already received the email invitation to take part on the testing.
Those that haven’t received an invitation can, however, subscribe to the beta testing through the game’s official site. In fact, Deep Silver has intentions of continuing to distribute the invitations for the beta testing that should be increasing its capacity soon.
