We don’t really have a precise date, but while in Japan the new Nintendo DSi is already available, European users may see the new portable console from Nintendo sometime before next autumn.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president, has recently revealed to Reuters that even if “specific plans will be revealed by the local subsidiaries”, talking about the End of 2009 for the launch of the DSi outside Japan would be “too late”. In that way, it’s likely that the DSi will be available before next autumn, or in any case, before the end of next year. Nintendo had already hinted at a possible Spring release, although Reggie Fils-Aime, from Nintendo of America, had declared that the launch date would probably come “later in 2009″.

We’ll be tuned for more information on the matter, but keeping our hopes up that the new portable console will be coming to us sooner than expected.
