Damnation postponed to 2009
Eurogamer has reported that Codemasters has the intention of postponing Damnation to 2009. “Damnation is being rescheduled for an early 2009 release”, a Codemaster spokesperson said. “The game will be much stronger and better as a result”
The idea from the interview, however, is that the move was planned to avoid the busy pre-Christmas season, that has many heavy titles already in the scene, such as Gears of War 2, Call of Duty: World at War, Resistance 2 and Left 4 Dead. The move seems rather smart, in fact, the same Codemasters spokesperson adds that the choice will also “give people time to get all the pre-holiday releases out the way - ready for the fresh (and vertical) gaming experience that Damnation offers”.
Damnation is a shooter game for PC, XBox 360 and PlayStation 3, developed on the Unreal Engine 3. The scenario is decisely original, being a somewhat cyberpunk restyling of the American Civil War.
