The Star Wars MMO won’t be a problem for Warhammer Online
Frank Gibeau, president of EA Games, has declared that the recently-announced MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, won’t be a problem for Warhammer online when it comes to users, even though the two games share a piece of the same market. “They compete in the same gaming genre, but they have different user bases. Warhammer’s player base will be slightly bigger, but Star Wars will certainly bring millions of new users that are faithful to the Star Wars Universe”.
When it comes to investing in multiple MMO’s, Gibeau feels positive, at least when it comes to the Asian market, while the Western one remains essentially “mono-game”, seeing all users concentrating themselves in one title at a time. However, lately there has been more frequent the “multiaccount” users, which leaves room for competition also in the Western markets.
