Sega publishes a collection dedicated to Mega Drive

These news should make all the old-time gamers happy: Sega has intentions to publish a collection with the best game titles from the Mega Drive era (with probably some Master System tidbits) for XBox 360 and Playstation 3.The Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection features a big chunk of videogaming history that happened between the 80’s and 90’s, retracing the glorious times of the Master System and Mega Drive. 40 titles will be found inside the CD, all of them re-adapted in order to match the new high-definition screens: Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2 and 3, Columns, Alien Storm, Ecco the Dolphin, Space Harrier, Streets of Rage 1, 2, 3 are only some of the titles that players will be able to find inside this collection.
The readaptation also features some additional contents, such as unlockable bonus that allow the access to several extras that show the backstage and other information on the games. The Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection should be available by Spring 2009 on PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.
