More than two million copies sold at day one for Gears of War 2?

According the data released by VGCharts, Gears of War 2 would have sold 2.1 million copies in the first day of commercial launch alone, in North America and “other” regions (which we suppose is referring to the PAL regions). If the data is confirmed, the game would be on the run to beat Halo 3’s record, that sold 3.8 million copies in its first commercial week.

We’ll be waiting on the possible release of more official data.
