DC Universe should be available on 2010
In an interview published by MTV, comic book author Geoff Johns, currently working on DC Universe Online’s screenwriting, has affirmed that the game will be ready for the first months of 2010.
““It launches I think in early 2010, it could be late 2009. I’ve written the overall story and the path that gets you into the game and the areas of the universe and how to explore them, but not every line of dialogue. That’s a fulltime job, it’s too frigging big, too intense to write every line of an MMO. I’d probably jump off a building”, says Johns.
The game is a MMO based on the DC Comic superheroes, being developed by Sony Online Entertainment’s Austin Studio, and it should work in a similar way as City of Heroes, but using the official DC characters, which will be, obviously, NPC’s. The players will create their own characters to adventure inside the game world, finding themselves fighting alongside Batman, SUperman and Wonder WOman, for example, but there will also be the possibility of choosing the enemy side.
DC Universe Online is currently being developed for PC and PlayStation 3.
