An update to stop cheaters on Left 4 Dead
After having analyzed different cases of suspect behavior from some players in Left 4 Dead, Valve has decided to act and to stop the “cheaters” with a software update.
“Valve has released a server-side fix to deny the recently reported cheats on all dedicated Left 4 Dead Xbox 360 servers. The fix is designed to halt the cheating behavior on the dedicated servers, which accounts for the majority of the co-op and Versus modes of play. A title update for those playing on user-hosted servers and/or via system link will be released in the coming days.”, it can be read on Blue’s News.
The problems found were caused by changes that are possible only on the Xbox 360 version, giving players the possibility to touch options that were generally inaccessible, offering the possibility of modifying many game aspects and spoil the experience to other players as well.
