Many rumors about the next chapter on the Call of Duty series have been going around the web lately, especially because according to some of the specialized press, Call of Duty: World at War represented a decrease in quality, especially compared to its very-well acclaimed predecessor.
Although we cannot exactly call it an official confirmation, it is definitely more than a rumor: Ken Lally, one of the Resident Evil 5’s voice actors has revealed to Coin-Op TV that he also worked on Call of Duty 6 and Dragon Age: Origins.
Of course, we’ll be waiting on official confirmation from Activision, but Ken Lally should be a good reference, at least.
We’ll be tuned!

After its first review was quickly removed due to an embargo violation, now the first articles from the specialized press about Killzone 2 are starting to surface on the web. The game’s scheduled to launch next February 25th in exclusive for the PlayStation 3.
Considering some of the grades given to the game, it seems that the game will be a triumph for Guerilla. Killzone has obtained a 9,4 from IGN UK, 9 from the English version of Eurogamer, and a good 10 from the Portuguese and Spanish versions of the same website.
The confirmation of those grades will be done once the game is launched, but in the meantime, enjoy the introduction video, courtesy of Joystiq.

About a week ago we published a mysterious countdown for Final Fantasy XIII, with not much information except a very mysterious sentence. Well, the countdown’s over and now we finally are able to discover what was behind the mystery: a new trailer.
The trailer feature game levels and scenes that are put together nicely and give the expectation atmosphere another boost. For those more avid gamers, curious about the combat system, it seems that the old system “by turn” is back, even if presented in a different way.
There’s not much else to be said about it, so we will leave you to the video, that can also be found on the official Final Fantasy XIII website, for those that want a subtitled version. We’ll be tuned also on a more precise launch date, since “until April 2010″ is a little vague.
Have fun!

Those players that like a little humor on their games, Vicious Cycle Software has been preparing a good ironic title: Eat Lead - The Return of Matt Hazard, that should be launched for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
The story? Matt Hazard is a retired virtual hero that finds himself forced to be back in action against an enemy that hates the difficulty of the “videogames” that Matt has been a part of in the past, deciding to bring a few gaming enemies to confront Matt, from technological dragons, typical of Japanese RPGs to muscular thugs.
In any case, nothing better than some videos to show exactly how this curious title will be presented. And of course, some of the most experienced players will find themselves laughing at some situations on the trailers that will be… a little too familiar.
Enjoy!

Major Nelson has released on his blog the most played games on XBox Live this week (starting from January 19th). It’s a very predictable list, to be honest, meaning that some of the “old” names are featured there. Even though Halo 3 has left room for Call of Duty: World at War as the most played game of the week, titles such as Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty 4 are still featured.
We’ll see how it turns out in the next few months, considering also that one of the most awaited launches such as Street Fighter IV should change the list slightly. While we wait, here’s the full list of the most played titles of the week:
1. CoD: World at War
2. Halo 3
3. Call of Duty 4
4. Gears of War 2
5. Left 4 Dead
6. GTA IV
7. Fable II
8. FIFA 09
9. Guitar Hero World Tour
10. Madden NFL 09 -

As for the base version of Red Alert 3, Electronic Arts repeats the dose and brings back a first-level cast for the real-life scenes present on Uprising, the first expansion of Red Alert 3 that should be launched at the half of 2009.
The names that will be featured are Holly Vallance, Jamie Chung, Ric Flair, Malcolm McDowell, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, and the return of Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic.

Sega has announced the launch dates for Empire: Total War - March 3rd for the American market, March 4th for the European market. On March 3rd the game will be available on Steam, for those who prefer the Digital Delivery system.
This chapter of Empire brings the strategic game to the XVIII Century. Creative Assembly has thus listened to some fans of the series that asked for an episode based on that historical period.

The new downloadable contents, exclusively for XBox 360 and PC of Fallout 3 are now available for download. The expansion is called Operation Anchorage, and as we have mentioned in previous articles, it introduces a new military campaign that will allow players to fight for the liberation of Anchorage, in Alaska, from Chinese Communist invaders.
