Star Ocean 4: For now, no PlayStation 3 version
According to what was declared by the game’s developers to IGN, Star Ocean: The Last Hope should remain an XBox 360 exclusive, erasing any doubts about a possible PS3 conversion. On the other hand, the team seemed rather ambiguous when answering the question: “Do we have any chance of seeing Star Ocean 4 made for the PlayStation 3?”. The answer was: “There are currently no plans for a PlayStation 3 version”.
Of course, the hopeful fans will read it as a possibility, but remaining in the official terms, it seems that Star Ocean 4 will not be launched to any other consoles but the XBox. But how definite that decision is, it still remains to be seen. Also because the Sony consoles have featured all three previous episodes. The first two, First Departure and Second Evolution for the PSP, and the third, Till the End of Time, was actually a PS2 exclusive.
So fans can be left with the benefit of the doubt. However, the official word for now is that there will be no Playstation 3 version of the fourth chapter.
