A few days ago, when the guys from BioWare presented the assasin Thane, informing that he would be part of Shepard’s team in Mass Effect 2, many people asked who the Krogan beside him was. And now the question has been answered with a video that shows the mysterious Krogan. His name is Grunt, and similarly to what happened to Wrex during the first chapter, Shepard will have to “tame” Grunt’s the violent and irritable nature in order to take advantage of his incredible unpredictable way when in battle.

We’ll leave you to the video now, reminding you all that Mass Effect 2 is scheduled to launch during the first months of 2010.

Although some people are skeptical about this particular project, Square Enix keeps on showing the work that is being done on Final Fantasy XIV, the upcoming MMORPG to be launched for PlayStation 3 and PC on 2010.

There’s not much to be seen in the very brief video, but since the official announcement was made two months ago, it’s better than nothing.

From the Sony conference at GamesCon, Kaz Hirai has made the announcement official: The PlayStation 3 Slim will be arriving at the stores during the first week of September for the price of €299. The new PlayStation 3 version will feature a 120GB hard drive and it’ll be 32% smaller, 36% lighter and requiring 34% less energy.

FunCom has revealed the first expansion for their MMORPG Age of Conan in occasion of the GamesCon 2009. The expansion is called Rise of the Godslayer, and it will take players to the far continent of Khitai. There will be no level cap, but lower-level contents and high-level challenges, new dungeons and new mounts, such as the tiger and wolf mounts, which will need to be raised from cubs to mounts. It also introduces a new race, the Khitan.

“Once players start to move through they will have to have invested some into the alternate advancement system in order to progress further,” Morrisson says. “Skilled and experienced high-level players might even find it possible to start exploring the second of the playfields early on, but they will of course be earning advancement points as they go along.”

The guys from BioWare have added a few new images for Mass Effect 2. The main protagonist of these images is Thane, the new game character that players will meet in the second episode of the game, now under the reigns of Electronic Arts.

After being presented with a trailer shown in Los Angeles at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2009, the obscure assassin Thane continues on showing his mysterious origins in the images we will see below. We’ll leave you to the images, and hope that BioWare will give us more information about the title, that is scheduled to be launched on the first months of 2010.

MCV has revealed that Tekken 6 should be launched on October 30th on the UK, according to Namco Bandai. Besides the launch date, MCV has also reported the prices for the game: The Arcade Stick Set, featuring a book, the game and a wireless analogic stick should be sold for £150 (€175), the Collector’s Edition for £70 (€81) and the game itself for £50 (€58).

Since these aren’t official news, we’ll be waiting for Namco Bandai’s official announcement before we consider this more than just a rumor.

According to what was reported by a French fansite, the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic is still a bit far away from being launched; in fact, the website claims that it will not be launched before October 2010.

The MMORPG will be the first with all dialogues voice-acted, and it will take place 300 years after Star Wars: Knight sof the Old Republic, and 3500 years before the events present on the movies.

We’ll be waiting for confirmation by LucasArts and BioWare on the launch date.

Naughty Dog has released two new videos for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves featuring 12 minutes of played sequences. The video is called “War Escape”, and before we leave you to them, we’ll remind you that the game will be launched on October 23rd only for the PlayStation 3.

The date isn’t exactly 100% official since the confusion that happened not too long ago, but for now, until we have any other confirmation, we’ll stick to it.
