BioWare has explained on their official forums how the import of old saved games will work for Mass Effect 2. Loading the first Mass Effect saved games will allow the players to enjoy the new chapter in coherent ways with their choices and actions from the first chapter of the game.
As for the experience, Shepard will not be a high-level character from the start: the bonus will be given according to the final level obtained on Mass Effect, and they can be extra money or abilities. It will also be possible to finish the game more than once and keep the same character.
For more explanation, follow this link. We’ll remind you all that Mass Effect 2 will be launched for PC and XBox 360 on January 26th.
