Pete Hines from Bethesda talked about the upcoming title Fallout 3 in an interview to Shacknews. Some interesting details were given: the game is at its final developing stages, only a few details left until it’s ready for release. There won’t be any patches released on launch day because the team isn’t currently working on that (and not because the game’s perfect and requires no updates). He also talked about the recent censorship that the game faced in Australia, and affirmed that it was given way more attention than it should have. To him, more than a true censorship, it was just a matter of changing the names of drugs present in the game. Hines thinks no one will notice the difference, or think it’s important that a substance has a different name than “morphine”, for example.
Another important subject addressed by Hines was the copy protection system for the PC version. He declared that it will follow the same line as Oblivion, that is, a mere DVD check: the lightest and less invasive protection system. About the digital delivery of the game via Steam, Hines says that he hasn’t decided about it yet, but affirmed that there are more than one way to distribute the game via digital delivery.
